Municipal management teams met this Wednesday with the Public Ministry
The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, announced this Wednesday (11) the name of Shakira for the show in Copacabana, after historic performances by Madonna and Lady Gaga.
But São Paulo is not far behind in attractions and the release, by the Public Ministry, for the Megashow on Avenida Paulista should happen in the coming weeks.
This Wednesday, representatives of the municipal management met with MP promoters to endorse the event in the second semester. According to interlocutors linked to the city hall, the meeting was “good” and “made a lot of progress”.
Two documents still need to be sent by municipal management; a health positioning, detailing the region’s hospital networks and a contingency plan. According to sources heard by Young Panthe city hall already has the documentation ready.
The municipal management wants, in addition to the presentation of the second semester, another date for the first semester of 2027. If the MP releases it and everything goes well at this year’s event, the city hall will have guaranteed the second Megashow next year.
Names like U2, Mariah Carey and the Rolling Stones are considered for the free performance. Despite the speculation, the city hall wants to have the MP’s approval and only then confirm the artist’s presence.
What does the release of the MP involve?
Mayor Ricardo Nunes needs this approval from the MP because it depends on flexibility in the TC, Conduct Adjustment Term. A 2007 determination that establishes a limit of three major events per year on Avenida Paulista. Currently, one of the capital’s main postcards is the stage for the LGBT Parade, São Silvestre and New Year’s Eve. The city hall’s assessment is that, in addition to being a centralized place, the road is spacious, with long cross streets that facilitate flow.
