Anthropic raises $30 billion and jumps to $380 billion valuation

Series G round, with Microsoft and Nvidia among investors, will finance research, new products and expansion of Claude AI infrastructure

Anthropic is now valued at $380 billion after the artificial intelligence company raised $30 billion in a Series G funding round.

The fundraising was led by GIC and Coatue, with participation from DE Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ and MGX.

The funding will boost research, product development and infrastructure expansion, the company behind the Claude AI models said on Thursday (12).

The round includes a portion of the $15 billion that Microsoft and Nvidia committed to investing in Anthropic in November.

“This financing reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on,” said Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao.

Founded in 2021, Anthropic has seen its revenue soar in recent years. The number of customers spending more than $100,000 with Claude grew sevenfold last year.

Earlier this month, Anthropic added a suite of sector-specific add-ons to Claude, triggering a sell-off in technology stocks as investors once again worried about AI’s potential to transform the software industry.
