The defense of civil servant Ruth Machado dos Santos, identified in the investigations by the Federal Police (PF) within the scope of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) into the data leak of Viviane Barci de Moraes, wife of minister Alexandre de Moraes, denies having accessed the lawyer’s data.
The employee is accused of having accessed Viviane’s registration data, such as CPF, mother’s name and date of birth, last year.
But, according to lawyer Diego Scarpa, Ruth did not access any of Viviane’s data, nor her registration details, nor information from her income tax declaration.
Opportunity with security!
“She (Ruth) denies having had any access to Viviane’s data,” said Scarpa, who claims to have not yet seen the case files.
Prevented from going to work
The lawyer said that his client and a group of IRS employees were notified by the Agency’s Superintendency in São Paulo to provide clarifications about improper access and disclosure of confidential data.
Ruth is a IRS employee in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo. By court order, she was prevented from entering the unit and accessing the computers. He is at home, wearing an electronic ankle bracelet and had his cell phone seized, said the lawyer.

In a statement, Ruth’s defense also stated that she has no party ties, no history of activism and that “she did not commit a criminal offense”.
“This is a professional with almost 32 years of public service, whose professional career is marked by correctness, discretion and absolute respect for the rules that govern Public Administration, with strict observance of legal duties, especially those related to functional secrecy, data protection and the responsibility inherent to the position”, says Ruth’s defense note.
