There’s been a lot of talk lately about a salad straight from American cuisine. As it turns out, they serve not only fast food and fried meats, but also tasty salads. One of them is iconic cobb slad, the recipe for which I got from a friend. Thanks to this, I have a perfect option for lunch, a light dinner or an impressive snack for a meeting with loved ones.

I consider it one of the classic American dishes a cobb salad that is distinguished by its abundance of colorful ingredients and the way it is served. Well, all the products used are not mixed, but placed next to each other in even rows, which gives it a characteristic look.

Unlike the gyros salad popular in Poland, the ingredients do not form layers, but lie parallel on the platter. The classic version includes: romaine or iceberg lettuce, juicy chicken breast, crispy bacon, hard-boiled eggs, creamy avocado, tomatoes, blue cheese and a distinctive vinaigrette sauce.

This connection makes it Cobb salad provides a solid portion of protein, healthy fats and fresh vegetables. It can successfully replace a nutritious meal and is perfect both for everyday use and for parties.

The taste of cobb salad is distinctive and perfectly balanced through this particular combination of ingredients. The sweetness of tomatoes combines with the creaminess of avocado, the salty note of blue cheese and the crispiness of bacon, and the whole thing is complemented by tender chicken. It’s a real feast for the palate.

She always prepares the salad according to a recipe from a friend. The following ingredients are needed for this:

  • 250 g chicken fillet,
  • 4 plastry bekonu,
  • 10-15 cherry tomatoes,
  • 1 ,
  • ½ onion (can be red),
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs,
  • 70 g of blue cheese (e.g. camembert),
  • romaine lettuce,
  • sos winegret,
  • a bit of lemon juice,
  • spices: granulated garlic, salt, pepper, honey, sugar, mustard.

Preparation method:

  1. Marinate the chopped chicken in salt, honey and mustard. After some time, fry it in a little olive oil, making sure it remains juicy. You can also grill it.
  2. Make crispy bacon chips. Peel the eggs and cut into cubes. Wash the tomatoes, dry them and cut them into quarters. Chop the onion into very thin slicespreviously lightly sprinkled with sugar.
  3. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and remove the pulp. Cut into cubes and sprinkle with lemon juiceso that the flesh retains its color. Crumble the blue cheese in your hands and tear the romaine salad into pieces with your hands.
  4. All on the prepared platter arrange the finished ingredients in rows, one next to the other. Before serving, pour vinaigrette over everything. If necessary, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cobb salad is best freshly prepared. When eating, it is a good idea to gently mix the ingredients on the plate. You can serve it alone or with crispy croutons. Enjoy your meal!
