An 18-year-old man is stabbed to death allegedly at the hands of a minor in Valladolid | Spain

An 18-year-old young man died this Friday in Valladolid after allegedly being stabbed by a 13-year-old minor on Democracy Street in the capital of Valladolid. The attack took place around 2:30 p.m., as reported by the Government’s deputy delegate in the province, Jacinto Canales. Two minor girls are involved in the event, according to police sources.

The Police have placed the three involved at the disposal of the minor’s Prosecutor’s Office and all have been released but under the guardianship of their parents, according to the same sources. None of them have a criminal record.

A mobile ICU took the victim to the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid, where he died shortly after. Investigators are considering the possibility that the stabbing is related to his possible membership in youth gangs, although the investigations are still in a very early stage. Among the hypotheses is that they could have convinced the boy to commit this fatal attack because, due to his age, he is unimpeachable. These groups, to which increasingly younger boys are attracted, require their members to demonstrate their loyalty with evidence that involves attacks, many of them with knives or machetes, or by committing crimes.

At 2:33 p.m. this Friday, the 112 emergency service of Castilla y León received several calls requesting assistance for a young man who had been seriously injured after suffering an attack with a knife to the chest. The event occurred near the Amor de Dios school, in the La Rondilla neighborhood. The emergency services activated the National Police, the Municipal Police and the Emergency Coordination Center for Health Emergencies, which sent a mobile ICU. The health personnel treated the victim at the scene, who was initially reported to be 16 years old, but subsequent information indicates that he had already reached the age of majority. The three people investigated for the stabbing fled and, after being located, were later taken to police stations.

The mayor of Valladolid, Jesús Julio Carnero, through the social network X, has expressed his rejection of the “terrible” event. “Our condolences to the family of the minor victim of unwanted violence,” the councilor said. “We will never admit violent attitudes, especially among young people!” he assured.
