A 17-year-old young man was shot dead this Friday morning (20), in the Várzea Nova neighborhood, in Santa Rita, in the Metropolitan Region of . According to the first information released by authorities, he had left home to buy bread when he was surprised by armed suspects and shot.
The Military Police reported that they found the teenager lying on the public road. The call was made, but the young man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

Images circulating on social media show the mother’s despair upon receiving the news. Through tears, she mourns her son’s death and states that he had just gone out to make a simple purchase. According to the family’s report, the young man had slept at home that night and usually stayed close to the residence.
