The Ukrainian attack was supposed to hit the Russian armory: at least 11 people were injured

At least 11 people were injured in a Ukrainian attack in Russia’s Udmurt Republic, local officials announced on Saturday. According to the DPA agency, the region is known for its defense industry. News appeared on social networks that the target of the Ukrainian attack was an armory in the city of Votkinsk, writes TASR.

Three injured were taken to the hospital, regional health minister Sergej Bagin said on the Telegram platform. Unverified reports on social networks indicated that an armory in Votkinsk was apparently hit, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of the city of Izhevsk. Iskander and Orešnik (Lieska) rockets are produced in this armory.

Residents of this region posted on the Internet footage showing fire and structural damage. Some social media accounts claimed that the target of the strike was a facility for the production of rocket engines. DPA notes that the Russian authorities have not yet confirmed these claims.

The highest representative of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brečalov reported on Telegram that the drones hit an unspecified object, causing damage and casualties. He did not provide any details about the location of the attack.

Due to an air alert, the airport in the city of Izhevsk has temporarily suspended operations. According to Ukrainian media, Flamingo missiles, not drones, were used in the mentioned attack. Even this claim, according to DPA, has not yet been confirmed by Ukrainian officials.
