An action by the Military Police interrupted, on the afternoon of this Monday (23), a meeting of members of a criminal faction in the José Hassem neighborhood, in the municipality of , in the interior of Acre. According to the 5th Battalion’s intelligence sector, the suspects were planning attacks against a rival group in the dispute over territory.
According to the corporation, there were signs that those involved were armed and organizing new attacks, especially after records of gunshots that occurred in the morning in the region. Given the information, teams from the Rapid and Ostensive Intervention Group (GIRO) and the Radio Patrol set up a siege on the property where the meeting was taking place.

Upon noticing the approach of the vehicles, some suspects tried to escape by jumping over the fences of neighboring residences, but were restrained by the police. Two of them, who were armed, abandoned their revolvers in a vegetation area during their attempt to escape, but the weapons were later located.

During the operation, three revolvers were seized, calibers .38 and .32, all loaded, in addition to several ammunition of different calibers. Inside the property, the military found cell phones, precision scales and portions of substances appearing to be cocaine and marijuana, among other objects.
All suspects were taken to the Civil Police Station, along with the seized material. Three teenagers who were at the scene were also taken to legal proceedings, monitored by the Guardianship Council.

The police also reported that one of the detainees had an open arrest warrant, while another was serving a sentence wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.
