The US authorizes non-essential staff of the Israeli embassy to leave the country for “safety” in the midst of tension with Iran

The US Embassy in Jerusalem this Friday authorized the departure of Israel of non-essential personnel of the US Government and their families due to “security risks”reported the diplomatic representation itself through its official channels. “It is recommended to consider leaving Israel while commercial flights are available,” the Embassy message states.

According to the note, “due to recent security incidents and without prior notice,” the embassy could also “temporarily restrict or prohibit the movement of government employees and their families to certain areas of Israel, including the Old City of Jerusalem and the West Bank.” He also invites his staff and family members to consider leaving Israel “while flights are available.”

The advertisement coincides with the arrival of the American aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Fordthe largest in the world, to the Israeli coast as part of the US military deployment in the Middle East in the face of a possible attack on Iran.

Iran and the United States concluded this Thursday their third round of negotiations this year on the scope and development of the Iranian nuclear program under military threats from Washington, which has made the largest deployment since the invasion of Iraq with two aircraft carriers, several destroyers and dozens of fighter jets in the vicinity of the Islamic Republic.

The meeting, held in Geneva, concluded with positive statements by the mediators and a next meeting already scheduled for next week.
