The PT criticized the attack carried out this Saturday, 28, by the United States and Israel against Iran, stating that the action took place under a “false justification” of preventing the Iranian government from developing nuclear weapons. “We highlight the position of the Brazilian government and call on the parties involved to respect international law, avoid escalating tensions and guarantee the protection of civilians and civil infrastructure”, says the party, in a statement.
The acronym called on the international community to work in a “united and multilateral” way to contain the conflict, which could have “unpredictable” consequences.
Earlier, this Saturday, the Brazilian government released a note condemning the attack by the United States and Israel against Iran and defending negotiation between the parties to avoid the escalation of hostilities.
In the note, Itamaraty asks those involved to respect international law and “exercise maximum restraint, in order to avoid the escalation of hostilities and to ensure the protection of civilians and civil infrastructure”.
