The war in the Middle East directly affects the security situation of Hungary. This was announced on Thursday by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, after a meeting of the Coordination Committee for the Fight against Terrorism. With reference to the Prime Minister’s post on Facebook, the correspondent of TASR in Budapest informs about it.
Orbán summoned the leadership of the organizations that have the authority to fight against terrorism. “We have moved their activity to a higher level of alertness,” said the prime minister. According to him, as a result of mass migration, Middle Eastern terrorist organizations have established themselves and strengthened in Western Europe. “We now expect these organizations and terrorist cells in Europe to be activated,” he added.
Orbán indicated that in the interest of Hungary’s security, checks on foreign passenger transport arriving in Hungary were strengthened. Hungary’s prime minister on Wednesday ordered security forces to “take the strictest measures” against people linked to extremist Islamist groups.
