PL breaks with Ibaneis and asks CPI to investigate BRB’s involvement in the Master case

The PL filed, this Tuesday (10), a request for the opening of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) with the aim of investigating Banco BRB’s involvement in the Master case scandal. The decision represents a break between the acronym and governor Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), a supporter of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who has sought to garner Bolsonaro’s support to run on the party’s Senate ticket.

According to the party, the deliberation took place based on a report released by GLOBO this Tuesday morning. As columnist Malu Gaspar showed, Ibaneis’ law firm closed a contract worth R$38 million involving the sale of precatório fees to a fund linked to Reag, a manager investigated by the Federal Police (PF) for being part of the fraudulent scheme linked to Daniel Vorcaro’s bank.

The measure was taken unanimously at a meeting attended by former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL). Both make up the likely articulation of the PL for the Senate, in a majority composition headed by vice-governor Celina Leão, tipped to run for Palácio do Buriti.
