Four people were injured when two drones crashed near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the local government announced according to the AP agency. Flight operations nevertheless continue as normal, informs TASR. According to the Dubai media office, they suffered minor injuries two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi. One Indian has moderate injuries.
Dubai International Airport, home to the long-haul airline Emirates, is from from the point of view of international traffic, the busiest airport in the world. In recent days, it has been repeatedly targeted during the ongoing war in the Middle East.
The United Arab Emirates is one of several Gulf states targeted by Iran in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes. The Islamic Republic insists that it does not target civilian targets.
Earlier on Wednesday, the UAE reported on a new missile and drone attack by Iran. According to the local Ministry of Defense, the air defense responded to an unspecified number of missiles and drones. However, the ministry did not provide any details about the target or location of the attack.
