Dubai under fire
“Authorities have confirmed that debris from the successful interception has slightly damaged the facade of a building in downtown Dubai,” the platform X media office said, adding that no injuries were reported.
An AFP correspondent reported on a large explosion that shook several buildings in the city and left a plume of black smoke over a neighborhood in the center.
The anti-aircraft defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has already intercepted more than 1,500 Iranian drones and almost 300 missiles during the war in the Middle East, according to AFP.
Night attacks in the Middle East
Saudi Arabia also reported attacks on Friday night. The country’s defense ministry said it intercepted 12 drones that entered the country’s airspace. Israel, in turn, reported on rockets fired towards its territory from Iran.
Iranian state media, on the other hand, confirmed that US and Israeli strikes hit parts of Tehran on Friday, where buildings were shaken by explosions.
The conflict in the Middle East was sparked by the February 28 US-Israeli strikes on Iran, to which Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes across the Persian Gulf.
