The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the city of Niksar in the Tokat province at a depth of 6.4 kilometers. AFAD confirmed. According to the office, the earthquake occurred at 3:35 a.m. local time (1:35 a.m. CET) and tremors were felt in several provinces, but without any incidents.

The governor of Tokat Province has announced that schools will be closed in the region on Friday.
