Crafts and sweets mark the Easter Market in Quarteira

Quarteira hosts, between the 1st and 4th of April, the 10th edition of the Easter Mercadinho, an initiative that takes place on Rua Vasco da Gama and promises to bring together artisanal products, regional sweets and various activities aimed at the whole family.

The event takes place daily between 10:00 and 18:00, with the participation of local artisans and producers who will showcase manually produced products and typical flavors of this festive season.

On the 2nd and 3rd of April, the program includes several children’s entertainment activities, including face painting, craft workshops, traditional games and a workshop dedicated to making folar, providing moments of learning and fun for the youngest.

Baile da Pinha and sharing the Folar Gigante

One of the most anticipated moments of the program takes place on Saturday, April 4th, with the traditional Baile da Pinha, scheduled for 3:00 pm, at Largo do Centro Autárquico, with musical entertainment provided by Cláudio Rosário.

Half an hour later, at 3:30 pm, Rua Vasco da Gama will host another of the event’s highlights: the sharing of Folar Gigante, prepared by local pastry shops and shared with the public.

The president of , João Romão, highlights the festive and community nature of the initiative: “The Easter Market and the entire range of activities we organize at this time of year are the ideal reason to come visit Quarteira and discover the products of our region”.

The mayor also extends an invitation to the population and visitors: “Come here and get to know the work and products of local artisans and producers up close. A Happy Easter to everyone.”

The initiative is organized by the Quarteira Parish Council, with the support of the Loulé City Council.
