Iran guarantees to be ready to fight "as long as necessary", says deputy foreign minister

The Iranian deputy foreign minister says that Iran is ready for as long as necessary to provide an adequate response and that it is not considering negotiations. The interview is with Dominic Waghorn, a Sky News journalist, who is in Tehran.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, warned USA that would face another Vietnamif they sent troops to the field in this war. Saeed Khatibzadeh was speaking, in an exclusive interview, with Dominic Waghorn, from Sky News, one of the few international journalists in Iran covering the conflict. He further said that the Iran is ready to fight for “as long as necessary” and is not considering negotiations with the US.

Asked about the possibility of US troops on the ground, the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs replied: “Read what happened in Vietnam.” In the interview, he said also that Iran is focused on defending territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
