Association honors attorney general of SP – 03/19/2026 – Panel

The Association of Attorneys of the State of São Paulo (Apesp) launches this Friday (20) the Anna Candida da Cunha Ferraz award, dedicated to recognizing female leadership in strengthening the Democratic Rule of Law.

The honoree will be the current State Attorney General, Inês dos Santos Coimbra, the first black woman to assume the position. The award will be presented at 3pm at the institution’s headquarters, at Rua Líbero Badaró, 377, Sé, in São Paulo.

The award is named after Anna Candida da Cunha Ferraz, who was the State’s attorney general between 1975 and 1979.

“This award was created to be permanent. We want to recognize trajectories that make a difference in public law and, at the same time, inspire new generations of prosecutors to occupy leadership spaces with technical excellence and institutional commitment”, says the president of Apesp, José Luiz Souza de Moraes. The honor will be awarded annually.
