The Feira do Folar returns to São Marcos da Serra between the 3rd and 5th of April, marking the celebration of Easter in the municipality of Silves with its 28th edition, which will take place in the town’s Largo da Igreja.
Organized by , with the support of several local and regional entities, the event establishes itself as a reference in the Serra Algarvia, bringing together traditional producers and promoting the region’s culture and gastronomy.
With free entry, the initiative once again attracts visitors from various areas of the Algarve, who seek to “savor the king of the festival, the traditional Folar da Easter, and taste the delicious mountain dishes, sweets and traditional delicacies, enjoy the concerts and musical entertainment”, says the Municipality.
Gastronomy and tradition highlighted
Over three days, the public will be able to taste folar, the protagonist of the event, as well as a variety of mountain dishes, regional sweets and other traditional delicacies.
The fair is also part of a crafts show and various initiatives that seek to preserve and promote local customs, in an environment marked by animation and conviviality.
Music and entertainment for all ages
The program includes a variety of shows and shows, with emphasis on the performance of fado singer Tatiana Pinto, on April 3rd, the group Folia Vadia, the following day, and singer Ágata, who closes the event on April 5th.
Performances by folkloric groups, percussion groups, dances, dance and a capoeira performance are also planned, as well as itinerant entertainment throughout the venue.
Activities for families and visitors
With younger people in mind, the “Meu Primeiro Folar” workshop will be held on April 4th and 5th, at 3pm, at Casa Museu da Serra. The activity, aimed at children between 4 and 12 years old, is free, but requires prior registration.
During the event, the Casa Museu da Serra will also be open to the public between 11:00 and 21:00, providing an opportunity to learn about the space and local history.
