While painting his face and arms black to criticize federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL)this Wednesday (18), in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp), the state deputy said to be “white”, but when she ran for her current position, in 2022, she declared herself brown to the Electoral Court.

The information is on DivulgaCand, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) website. This issue was the subject of a post by state deputy Monica Seixas (PSOL) on her social networks.

“Blackface and quota fraud! Fabiana Bolsonaro, who said yesterday in the plenary: ‘I’m white. If I dress up in black am I black?’, declared herself mixed race in the 2022 Elections. I went to look into the PL’s transfer of the special racial fund and bingo. I found her on the list of those who received money from the fund.”

Brown and black candidates can, by law, receive funds from the Electoral Fund. According to the TSE, Fabiana received a total of R$1,593.33 from this type of transfer.

Unrelated

The PL deputy uses the surname of former president Jair Bolsonaro, but is not related to him in any way. Her name is Fabiana de Lima Barroso and she adopted the name “Bolsonaro” because she considers she has a great affinity of ideas with the politician who is currently imprisoned in Brasília.

Understand the case

The state deputy known as Fabiana Bolsonaro took to the Alesp rostrum, to speak out against the election of Federal deputy Erika Hilton to the Women’s Commission, in the Chamber. She painted her face and arms black.

“I am a woman. There is no point in dressing up as a woman. I am not here offending transsexuals, quite the opposite, I am saying ‘I am a woman, I want to be seen as a woman. The woman of the year cannot be transsexual.”

Due to the racist practice of blackface and transphobic statements, state deputies filed a request for impeachment.
