The Minister (Environment) started to show signs that she could stay on to run for the Senate in São Paulo.
She told the Panel that she did not give up on the party and compared politics to a biome, in which the parties would be ecosystems.
“I’m fighting to maintain the Rede ecosystem. We want the Network to return to what it was, a party that defends plurality. I haven’t decided to leave yet,” he stated.
Founder of the party, Marina leads an internal wing that rivals the party leadership, led by federal deputy Heloisa Helena (RJ).
In recent months, the minister’s group discussed migration to other parties, saying they were victims of authoritarian practices by the opposing current.
More recently, however, the calculus has changed. Several of Marina’s allies in the management decided to stay at the Network, instead of giving up the internal dispute. Furthermore, to nullify acts considered arbitrary by Helena’s group.
There is also an electoral calculation: with Simone Tebet joining the PSB to run for the Senate, this option has practically closed for the minister, as the socialist party will not be able to nominate names for the two vacancies in dispute.
A return to the PT would pose a similar problem, as the party will already have Fernando Haddad as a candidate for government. since the acronym is already federated with the Network.
Some members of Marina’s group, however, have already started what has been called a “diaspora” by other parties.
The São Paulo state deputy In Roraima, the president of Funai, Joenia Wapichana, is negotiating affiliation with the PDT, to compete for a federal deputy mandate.
