One military police attacked at least two students inside a state school in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Wednesday morning (25). The case occurred at the Senor Abravanel State School, in Largo do Machado, and was recorded on video. THE Shock Battalion agent was removed preventively from street service.
According to AMES Rio (Municipal Association of Students of Rio de Janeiro), representatives of the entity were called by students to support a petition that asks for the removal of a teacher accused of harassment.

According to AMES Rio, outside, the violence continued with the use of pepper spray and batons, and the entity’s president had her shirt torn before being detained along with two other representatives. “The police did not go to solve the reported case, but to repress students who demonstrated legitimately”, stated the entity on social media.
In a note, the State Department of Education reported that the unit’s management called the Military Police preventively, due to the students’ protest to “ensure everyone’s safety and preserve an environment suitable for dialogue.” The ministry regretted what happened and stated that it will provide support to the students involved and their families.
The Rio de Janeiro Military Police reported that, given the seriousness of the images, the General Inspector’s Office initiated proceedings to immediately investigate the agent’s conduct. The police officer has already been identified and will be taken to the 1st Military Judicial Police Station (DPJM).
