This harms young people, adult consumers and the public interest,” said Abrasel’s executive president, Paulo Solmucci.
Abrasel says that the lack of regulation has prevented the definition of minimum standards for quality, labeling and composition of products.
Furthermore, it says that it limits possible educational, preventive and inspection actions.
“Consumption takes place outside the law, without sanitary control or supervision. Almost a third of our teenagers have already tried electronic cigarettes, which is alarming,” said Solmucci.
