Russian drones have struck Ukraine’s Nikopol, leaving at least five dead and dozens injured. Both Kyiv and Moscow report more victims of the ongoing night attacks.
Both Kyiv and Moscow continued to attack each other on Saturday. While one victim was reported from Russia’s Rostov region, Ukraine reported at least five dead in the city of Nikopol. TASR writes about it according to the agencies DPA and AFP.
Rostov Oblast Governor Yury Slyusar said that one person was killed and four others were injured in the city of Taganrog. DPA explains that in this city, which is located on the coast of the Sea of Azov, there is an aircraft plant and two factories for the production of drones.
Attack on Nikopol
The city of Nikopol in Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk region was hit by a Russian drone attack on Saturday morning, which claimed at least five lives and injured 19. The governor of the region, Oleksandr Hanža, confirmed on Telegram that three women and two men were killed. According to him, there is also a 14-year-old girl who is in a “critical condition” among the injured.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that they shot down a total of 260 out of 286 Russian drones overnight on Saturday.
More night attacks
Night attacks were also reported by the city of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, where, according to the local police, at least 11 people were injured. The mayor of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, in turn, said that falling fragments of drones set fire to an administrative building in the city.
Early Friday evening, Russia launched a bomb attack on the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. The incident claimed four lives, including a 16-year-old boy, regional prosecutors reported on Saturday.
