Burn, feed, plow: Tons of potatoes find no buyers

Gigantic mountains of potatoes are piling up. They have to get away, out of the camps, out of the fields – in the best case for just a few cents. In the worst case, farmers pay extra for their destruction. Tons of them are burned, fed, plowed and composted. Nature pays the price for the surplus – with pointlessly stressed and depleted soils.
