Mass revolt of the acting stars: The series for STVR was trashed! Their reason is a real slap in the face for Flašíková

Stifling in culture is intensifying! According to information, he is preparing public television series from the environment of an anti-alcohol treatment center directed by Lukáš Hanulák, who won the Sun in the Network award on Thursday, April 9, for the television miniseries Moloch. However, the director of TV and radio, Martina Flašíková, and the authorized director of Slovak Television, Peter Begányi, have a serious problem, since many actors distance themselves from cooperation with STVR.

The tense situation in STVR and the Ministry of Culture resulted in open criticism from artists. Many well-known faces, who appeared on the screens of public media for many years, began to refuse to appear in projects. On social networks, Ondřej Daniš and Kristína Tormová rejected the offer to play in the upcoming series, which was later joined by the acting legend Zuzana Kronerová.

The main character in the new series was to be played by Alexander Bártawho likes the script and the idea of working with director Hanulák, but has reservations. “The latest steps of the STVR leadership do not agree with my inner moral setting,” explained the decision not to be part of the plot.

Actor Marek Geišberg also made the same decision. “Although I’m not one of those people who can afford to turn down any offer and I’ve never done anything like that, I said no under the circumstances. I’m sorry to the people I made a promise to and then didn’t keep, but I really am he could not have expected the circumstances to develop like this,” he added that he cannot work for STVR if, according to him, there will be arrogant egocentrics in the management.

He won’t even join the project actor Milo Kráľ. “Public television cannot broadcast the presentation of theater awards, the presentation of film awards, presenting music awards… He cannot turn to people in this way, who create values for it and make up what, in addition to news, a public institution should bring to society,” he clarified his perception of the whole matter.

STVR should also have announced the end of cooperation the stars of the marquee series Dunaj, at your service Jana Majeská and Martin Mňahončák. “Filming a series that also looks good is not a given. It is always an opportunity for an actor, an opportunity to show something, to “play” in something worthwhile. Expressing my attitude by rejecting what I enjoy, what feeds me, what I’m good at is not easy, and there must be something more behind it.” the actor noted on Sunday, April 12, on the social network.

He then spoke about the reasons that led him to this radical step. “I myself refused cooperation on the series, and certainly not to “polarize” society, but because as every free citizen of this still democratic republic has the right to react in this way to what I do not agree with. I don’t blame any of my colleagues, I don’t encourage anyone to change their opinion, I just think that if I don’t agree with something, I have every right to express it,” he added.

The management of the television station does not remain silent and addresses the critics with a clear position. He declares that the public attitude of the artists pays attention to mutual cooperation and respects them. The institution emphasizes that its fundamental pillars remain artistic freedom a intelligence independence. Instead of public confrontation through the media, the management offers space for direct discussion of any doubts.

Public television perceives calls to refuse cooperation as unreasonable. According to the opinion, they are attacks on the institution or its employees unfair to the people who work in television and radio every day and counterproductive because they needlessly deepen the division of society.

The management of the institution emphasizes the need for professionalism and mutual respect. “STVR has long-term cooperation with a number of creators, artists and experts, regardless of their personal or political positions. These people carry out their work professionally and should not be exposed to public pressure or questioning just because they decided to participate in the projects. The successes of our projects at home and abroad are the result of their talent, work and commitment, and for that they deserve thanks and respect.” it is stated in the official statement in the press release.

“We do not want to deepen the tension. We are convinced that even in a difficult social situation it is possible to have a respectful discussion without personal attacks and calls for exclusion. STVR remains a public institution that serves all viewers and listeners. We do not let up in the preparation of new projects with an emphasis on quality and public interest,” completes STVR.
