PL, PP and Novo voted to indict STF ministers and Paulo Gonet

Of the 6 votes against the decision, the PT cast 4 votes against the report that indicated Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli and Gilmar Mendes

The senator (MDB-SE) and 3 other members of the (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on Organized Crime voted, this Tuesday (April 14, 2026), for the indictment of 3 ministers of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) and the Attorney General of the Republic. The group, formed by the PL, PP and Novo subtitles, however, was defeated by 6 votes to 4.

Senators in favor of the report defended holding Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli and Gilmar Mendes, as well as the head of the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), Paulo Gonet, responsible for crimes of responsibility, which could justify impeachment requests.Vieira accused ministers of acting in a way “incompatible” with decorum due to relations with Banco Master.

The opposition’s defeat was consolidated after the government (PT) arranged last-minute changes in the commission. Names critical of the Court, such as (União Brasil-PR), were replaced by government senators to guarantee the rejection of the opinion.
