Anvisa bans Gluconex and Tirzedral weight loss pens

Trademarks brought from Paraguay are not registered in Brazil; irregular products are sold on social media

The ordered the seizure and prohibited the commercialization, distribution, import and use of the drugs Gluconex and Tirzedral. The measure was published on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) on (Official Gazette of the Union) and covers all batches of products, manufactured by an unidentified company.

According to the agency, the items are sold on the internet as injectable medications based on GLP-1, popularly known as “slimming pens”. However, they have no registration, notification or registration in Brazil, which makes them irregular.

Anvisa stated that, as they are of unknown origin, there is no guarantee regarding the composition, safety or quality of the products. Therefore, the agency recommends that they not be used under any circumstances.

The decision is contained in specific resolution No. 1,519 of 2026. Here is it (PDF – 81 kB). It was motivated by non-compliance with health legislation, including , which regulates the registration of medicines in the country.

The rule also determines that the prohibition applies to any natural or legal person, including media outlets, that sell or publicize medicines. The agency advises that health professionals and patients who identify the products contact Anvisa or local health surveillance to notify the case.
