Iran has again imposed restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz: the US blames the violation of the agreement!

On Saturday, Iran announced the reversal of its decision to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the reason is the ongoing blockade of Iranian ports by the United States, the army said in a statement. TASR refers to reports from DPA, AP and Sky News.

“Unfortunately, the Americans…continue…the so-called blockade. Because of this, control over the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its original status, and this strategic strait is under the strict command and control of the armed forces,” the military said. It stressed that unless the US withdraws from the blockade, the situation will remain under Tehran’s control.

Iran’s state television IRIB said the strait is “closed again” and passage through this strategic route is subject to Tehran’s approval. The first convoys of tankers started passing through it already on Saturday morning.

Foreign Minister Abbas Arákčí announced on Friday that The Strait of Hormuz is open to all commercial vessels for the remainder of the ceasefire. According to him, this step was in accordance with the conclusion of the ceasefire in Lebanonwhich should be in effect for the time being for ten days, starting on Thursday.

The opening of the strategic strait was immediately welcomed by US President Donald Trump. At the same time, he added that The United States will continue its naval blockade of Iran in the area.
