Vienna – From May 1st, the first changes for e-bikes and e-scooters will come into force through the amendment to the Road Traffic Act (StVO). For example, it makes helmets mandatory for young drivers. At a press conference on Tuesday in Vienna, the Board of Trustees for Road Safety (KFV) spoke out in favor of wearing a helmet regardless of age. The majority of those injured on e-bikes and e-scooters are older and will not be legally required to wear a helmet in the future.
