  • The police, together with Slovak Post, have been warning senior citizens against similar frauds for a long time.

According to the investigation so far, the woman, as a senior employee of one of the branches of the Slovak Post in the Košice region, was supposed to fill out a form for the withdrawal of funds and pretend to be an authorized withdrawal without the physical presence and knowledge of the account holder.. “Since, by virtue of her position, she had the data of the victims, she should have misused this information to her advantage,” she stated.

In the first case, she had to withdraw 4,000 euros from a foreign account, and in the second case, 7,200 euros. According to the police, both victims discovered the unauthorized withdrawals only after checking their account statements, when they discovered that money that they had not withdrawn had disappeared from their accounts.
