Popular humorist and successful writer Rasťo Piško (64) is fighting cancer. According to the magazine, his health condition worsened and the artist ended up in the hands of doctors. “In the last three days, his condition has worsened. They had to take him to the hospital. We are all sending him positive energy and we believe he will get better,” said a source close to the humorist.
The difficult battle with cancer deprived him of a lot of strength and left him dependent on the help of others. Last year it was already revealed that he has been living in a social service facility in Bratislava’s Rača for a long time. Despite the circumstances, he exuded energy. “I had three metastases. Hip and spine, those two probably caused my legs to go away. And the third finding was on the brain,” described then.
„I have a feeling that there is still something there. The legs improved, so it is possible that the treatment worked. And as for the brain, once they gave me some terrible drugs for three days. When I had a scan I was told it had not improved. And since then I didn’t know what state it was in. However, I had an MRI of my head just recently. The doctor said it was good. And I’m such a good patient that I trust doctors,” added Piško.
According to his own words, he sometimes forgets that he is an oncology patient and tries to get back on his feet. “That’s why I have these aids, I go cycling on a wheelchair stationary bike, I exercise on my bed and I feel physically quite good,” he boasted and actually got to his feet.
