It is a deceptive calm that is not welcomed by everyone: a fragile ceasefire between the USA and Iran has been in effect since April 8th, and on Tuesday it was extended by US President Donald Trump for an indefinite period of time. Even if the mutual blockades in the Strait of Hormuz remain in place (and continue to escalate), attacks in Iran itself have largely been absent since then.
