Pre-campaign considers Marcelo Barbieri in an attempt to find a name from the interior to form a ticket in the dispute for governor of São Paulo
The PT carries out qualitative research to find a name to appear as vice-president on the ticket headed by the former minister in the dispute for the government of São Paulo in 2026. The former mayor of Araraquara (PDT) was tested.
The internal assessment that there is a good performance when Barbieri’s name is linked to the interior of São Paulo. There has not yet been a conversation with the pedestrian.
The acronym is looking for a name that can expand Haddad’s electoral potential. The pre-campaign understanding is that the former minister already has a good performance in the capital of São Paulo, where he was mayor between 2013 and 2016.
There are other components that have been considered by Haddad HQ in this search: being linked to agriculture and being a woman. The PT also tested the former Minister of Planning (PSB) for vice and she performed better.
Tebet, however, is a pre-candidate for the Senate. On March 12, she would compete for one of the two seats in São Paulo for the Casa Alta in 2026.
