Vienna – TSV Hartberg was crowned champion in the men’s Austrian Volley League (AVL) for the first time on Tuesday. The East Styrians took their first chance at the title with a 3-1 lead against UVC Ried in the fifth game of the “best of seven” series. The home team defeated the Upper Austrians 3:2 (16,-22,-24,16,11) after a set deficit of 1:2. For the women, Sokol/Post made it 2-1 in the final series against UVC Graz, the Lower Austrians are only missing one win.
