On CNN, Netanyahu’s advisor accuses Hezbollah of violating ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s foreign policy advisor, Ophir Falk, blamed Hezbollah for the resumption of fighting, saying in an interview with CNN with Jim Sciutto, that the group repeatedly violated the ceasefire.

“Hezbollah is violating the ceasefire. This is not surprising, and we are fighting back very hard,” Falk said.

He accused the Iran-backed group of attacking Israeli civilians, saying Israel is responding by attacking Hezbollah militants.

“Hezbollah… has held Lebanon hostage for about a decade… and they attack civilians, while we attack Hezbollah terrorists. That’s the main difference between us,” the aide added.

Despite the declared ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, Israeli forces and Hezbollah continue to attack each other, with each side accusing the other of violating the truce.

Sunday (26) was the day with the highest number of civilian deaths in Lebanon since the beginning of the ceasefire, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which recorded 14 civilian deaths across the country.

Withdrawal order

On Tuesday (28), the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) ordered the population to go to the north of the country, claiming that the measure was aimed at their security after Hezbollah had “violated” the ceasefire agreement.

“In view of Hezbollah’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are forced to act firmly against the group,” Avichay Adraee, IDF spokesperson in Arabic, said on the social network X this Tuesday.

“Anyone who is near Hezbollah operatives, facilities, or military equipment is putting their life at risk,” he continued.
