A Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber crashed today during a training flight in the Irkutsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said, according to the Interfax news agency.
The ministry emphasized that the crew managed to eject and survived the crash.
Unverified footage of the crash posted on social media shows a plane plummeting toward a densely wooded area near the banks of the Angara River, then a huge plume of smoke rising.
