Zell am See – Austria’s national ice hockey team narrowly lost the first of two international test matches against Germany. The ÖEHV selection suffered a 3:4 (0:1,1:1,2:2) defeat in a duel between two World Cup starters in Zell am See on Thursday after a 3:2 lead. The teams will meet again in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Saturday (5 p.m./live ORF Sport +). Swiss legionnaire Benjamin Baumgartner, who had to withdraw from the final round, cannot play a role there or at the World Cup.
