President Donald Trump said he considers it “treason” to claim that the United States is not “winning” the war against Iran, despite previously informing Congress that hostilities had “ended.”
“We make the radical left say, ‘We’re not winning, we’re not winning.’ They no longer have any military power. It’s unbelievable. Actually, I actually believe it’s cheating, okay. Want to know the truth? It’s treason,” Trump said during a speech in The Villages, Florida, on Friday (1st).
Speaking about the swift military action in Venezuela in January, which he called “one of the greatest military moves in history,” Trump said he doesn’t want to talk too soon about the .
“We’re doing almost as well as we did in Iran. But I don’t like to talk about it until the job is done,” Trump said, without acknowledging the clear differences between the two conflicts.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US destroyed the Iranian navy and emphasized the “genius” of moving in and out of Iranian ports. However, Iran still maintains influence over the Strait of Hormuz.
