Night EXPLOSION in Madunice: Police caught a 41-year-old suspect after months!

On Monday (May 4), the police arrested a 41-year-old man who was supposed to be behind last September’s explosion of an ATM in the village of Madunice in the district of Hlohovec. The Trnava regional police informed about it.

“Members of the regional crime branch worked intensively on the case from the beginning and thanks to demanding operative-search activity and an extensive investigation, they managed to identify the man suspected of the crime,” the police officers added, saying that as part of the investigation, they also conducted a house search, during which they seized a lot of evidence.

Based on them the man was charged with the crime of damaging and endangering the operation of a generally beneficial facility and the criminal offenses of theft and damage to another’s property, committed by complicity. However, he was still hiding from justice in an unknown place.

The police intensively searched for the accused man. The District Court of Trnava issued an arrest warrant for him. According to the law, he can face a prison sentence of up to five years. A man who has already been legally convicted for similar criminal activity abroad in the past is being prosecuted in custody.

The ATM explosion occurred on September 16, 2025, shortly after 2:00 a.m. The perpetrators were supposed to use a mixture of explosive gases to damage not only the ATM itself, but also the building in which it was located. They also managed to get financial cash.
