US President stated that 70% of targets have already been reached; Tehran sent response to peace plan brokered by Pakistan
The president of the USA, (Republican Party), stated, this Sunday (May 10, 2026), that Iran is already “militarily defeated”. In an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson, the American declared that the United States Army could end operations in the country within 14 days, reaching the rest of the strategic targets.
According to Trump, around 70% of military objectives have already been achieved since the start of the conflict on February 28. “We could intervene for another two weeks and attack each of the targets [restantes]. It would just be the finishing touches,” said the president.
Simultaneously with Trump’s statements, Iranian state media reported that Iran sent one presented by the US. The document was forwarded to Pakistan, which acts as a mediator in the conflict.
The main points of the Iranian response include the cessation of fighting on all fronts, with an emphasis on Lebanon, as well as security guarantees for maritime transport in the region and the end of fighting before discussions on uranium enrichment begin.

Trump’s position was released on the eve of his official visit to China, scheduled for this week. The North American government is under internal and external pressure to stabilize the region and contain volatility in fuel prices.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu adopted a more cautious tone. In an interview with the program he stated that the war is not over and that it is still necessary to dismantle Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and ballistic missiles.
The Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, declared in the that the country “will defend national interests with strength” and that it will not bow to pressure from the USA and Israel.
