Novo directories in SC and PR criticize Zema’s video – 05/14/2026 – Politics

The Novo directories in Santa Catarina and Paraná criticized this Thursday (14) the publication of a party presidential candidate, attacking the senator’s audio on the former banker, owner of Master.

The two wings are expected to form the local slates in this year’s elections and stated, in a statement, that the video was released in a “hasty and unnecessary” manner. They also said that alliances between Novo and PL remain solid in both states.

In Paraná, the former coordinator of the Lava Jato task force intends to run for one of the two Senate seats on the ticket led by (PL), who is expected to join the government and has federal deputy Filipe Barros (PL) in the running for the second senator’s seat.

In the group, Zema’s pre-candidacy raises concerns precisely because the former governor of Minas Gerais is running for the same electorate as Flávio.

In Santa Catarina, the former mayor of Joinville Adriano Silva was chosen to run for vice-president in Jorginho Mello’s (PL) re-election attempt. The governor did not comment on Zema’s video, but told reporters this Thursday that he “fully agreed” with Flávio’s demonstration.

The Novo directories also defend a “deep and complete investigation of the case by the competent bodies, with firm action by inspection and control mechanisms”, and call for the immediate installation of the joint CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of Banco Master.

This Wednesday (13), audio was released of Flávio asking for money to finance a story about the former president, the senator’s father.

The former banker even paid R$61 million for the production of “” (which means “underdog”), which deals with the former president’s life, and an audio from September 2025 shows the PL senator demanding more resources from the former banker.

The information was revealed by the website, and the authenticity of the messages exchanged between them was confirmed by Sheet with two people linked to the investigation.

In a video published on his social networks, Zema stated that it was “a slap in the face of good Brazilians”. “Flávio Bolsonaro, hearing you demanding money is unforgivable,” said the pre-candidate. “There is no point in criticizing the practices of Lula and the PT and doing the same thing. You need to have credibility to change Brazil,” he added.

The senator for the film, but denied having received or offered advantages.

“We need to separate the innocent from the criminals. In our case, what happened was a son seeking private sponsorship for a private film about his own father’s story. Zero public money,” said Flávio.
