Journalist Catarina Alencastro launches this Saturday (16) in São Paulo her first children’s book, inspired by the historic fires that hit the year 2020.
The fiction “Na Trilha da Fumaça” (published by Boitatá) tells the story of 10-year-old girl Caliandra, who faces the effects of fire when she arrives to spend her holidays on her grandmother’s farm.
The work deals with the theme of environmental devastation, with the aim of bringing children and young people closer to the practical consequences of the climate crisis.
The launch will take place at 3pm at Livraria da Tarde (Rua Cônego Eugênio Leite, 956, Pinheiros). There will be a conversation between the author and journalist and researcher Thais Caramico.
Alencastro has a 20-year career in press vehicles, covering areas such as politics and, in São Paulo and Brasília.
