Social Security’s digital services have been gaining importance in the daily lives of beneficiaries, especially in accessing documents that, for a long time, required in-person travel. Among the recent resources is an option linked to the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (CSI), a benefit aimed at low-income people.

Anyone who receives the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly, also known as CSI, can now obtain the respective supporting statement through the Social Security App or the Social Security Portal.

The information was released by , which presents this change as a way of simplifying access to the document.

Less travel for beneficiaries

Until recently, this declaration had to be requested in person at a service desk. By making the document available on digital channels, beneficiaries will now be able to process the request remotely, without the need to go to services.

This change may be particularly relevant for elderly people or those with greater mobility difficulties, as it reduces waiting, travel and face-to-face contacts. Social Security has presented the measure as a way of giving more autonomy to those who receive this support.

Where can you request the declaration

According to official information, the CSI supporting statement can be issued in two copies. One of them is the Social Security App, aimed at those who prefer to take care of the process via cell phone. The other is the Social Security Portal, through each user’s reserved area.

On the portal, the declarations area appears identified on the main page. Official Social Security assistance indicates that access must be done through “Declarations > Consult declarations”, where different receipts and declarations related to social benefits are available.

The CSI is a monthly cash benefit granted to low-income elderly people which, according to information available on the official Social Security portal, can also cover disability pensioners who meet the stipulated conditions and who do not receive the Social Inclusion Benefit.

This support aims to reinforce the income of those in the most vulnerable economic situation. Therefore, the possibility of obtaining the declaration without going to a notary’s office can make the process simpler for beneficiaries who need to present proof with other entities.

Service now available online

The functionality is now available on Social Security’s digital channels. To use it, beneficiaries of this benefit must access the Social Security App or enter the reserved area of the Social Security Portal, using the usual authentication data.

Although it does not replace all face-to-face contact with services, this option allows you to resolve a specific request more quickly. For those who receive the CSI, it is now possible to obtain the supporting statement from home, avoiding traveling just to request this document.
