Fluminense beat São Paulo 2-1 at home

O São Paulo it lost once again. The São Paulo team visited the Fluminense at Maracanã this Saturday (16), for the 16th round of the Brasileirão. Led by Milton Cruz, the MorumBis club suffered practically the entire time and left Rio with the defeat by 2 to 1com goals scored by John Kennedy and Canobbio even in the first half. Dória scored for the visitors in the second stage.

The result does not change the position of the two teams in the tablebut it’s bad for São Paulo, which see Fluminense move away. The MorumBis club Parks at 24 points, in 4th placewhile the Laranjeiras team reaches 30, in 3rd position. It is below vice-leader Flamengo only by tiebreaker criteria.

Introduced to the fans before the ball rolled, Hulk saw, from the stands, Fluminense completely dominate São Paulo. It is true that the São Paulo team, in addition to not yet having Dorival Júnior on the bench, also had ten absences, including injured and suspended. It was up to Milton Cruz to be interim for the 56th time in history and try to lead a team dismantled and unmotivated by recent defeats to Corinthians and Juventude

One of the alternatives tried by Milton Cruz was use Wendell, left back, as a winger. Amid so many absences, Ferreira would be the most logical option. However, the expulsion during the elimination in the Copa do Brasil tarnished the striker’s morale. The defender little – or nothing – did in the improvisational position.

From the beginning, Fluminense made a point of showing who is boss at Maracanã. With the exception of rare flashes at the end of the first half, the home team dominated completely. Not to say that Fábio didn’t work, the goalkeeper saved a weak shot by André Silva from outside the area.

São Paulo did not know how to put pressure on Fluminensewaiting for the Rio team to pass midfield to try to steal the ball. There was practically no threat to Fluminense in the first half, who knew how to exploit the left side, with good chances from Arana and Hércules. The first goal came precisely in this sector.

Top scorer of the Brasileirão, John Kennedy opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Canobbio beat Sabino on the left and crossed into the area. Arana punctured, but the number nine appeared free and, with a cart, pushed the ball into Rafael’s net.

If it was Sabino who made a mistake with the first goal, it was Dória who made a gift with the second. The tricolor defender tried to play with Danielzinho and ended up serving Lucho Acosta. The home player alone needed to find Canobbio inside the area for the Uruguayan to increase the score.

Both teams returned from the locker rooms the same. The script also remained the same. With less than a minute of the second stage, Savarino already drew screams from the stands after finishing wide. The Rio team had no difficulty in destabilizing the defensive system paulista.

Zubeldía went into the game under pressure, but soon felt moments of relief. It didn’t take long to move for the first time, placing Rodrigo Castillo and Serna in the places of John Kennedy and Lucho Acostarespectively. The changes were made thinking about Tuesday’s match (19), against Bolívar at home, in the Libertadores.

Just like Hulk, São Paulo watched Fluminense play ball for almost the entire second half. However, even visibly unmotivated and uncreative, the visiting team still managed to find his goal of honor. After making Fábio work on Danielzinho’s volley and the Sabino’s headerDória tested the ball on a corner kick and rekindled a brief flame of hope for the São Paulo fan.

The match improved for Milton Cruz’s team, especially with the entry by Chilean Gonzalo Tapia. However, time passed and the final whistle took away all hope of avoiding defeat. Worst: the visiting team he even suffered the third with Castillobut the video referee intervened for irregular position from the Argentine.

While waiting for Dorival Júnior, the MorumBis team pick up the pieces to face Millonariosalso on Tuesday, by South American Cup.
