Centcom denied a publication by The Wall Street Journal that stated, through sources, that the American Navy had guided a Greek supertanker loaded with oil off the coast of Oman
The United States Central Command (Centcom) denied on Tuesday afternoon, the 26th, reports that the American Navy had resumed escorting or assisting commercial ships during crossings through the Strait of Hormuz.
“Project Freedom has not resumed, and U.S. forces are not currently escorting commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” according to a log on Centcom’s official X account.
Earlier, the The Wall Street Journal sources said that a Greek supertanker loaded with two million barrels of crude oil was guided by the US Navy as it crossed the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman.
