If you love survival reality with tension, strategy and a lot of trouble, Largados e Pelados: Champions of the World could be your next obsession. THE new edition of the Discovery phenomenon is among the most watched realities on HBO Max currently and has been winning over the public by betting on an even more extreme and unprecedented competition.
For the first time in the history of the franchise, veteran survivalists from different countries face each other in a true “World Cup” of survival. In total, 14 participants, divided into seven pairs representing Brazil, Australia, Mexico and the United States, face a brutal 40-day challenge in Zululandin South Africa, facing savannas, dangerous swamps and even areas full of sharks.
But it’s not just about surviving: edition brought an unprecedented competitive formatwith a scoring system, eliminatory challenges and strategic advantages for the best performing teams. While the winners gain essential tools to obtain food, water and shelter, the participants with the lowest scores must fight to stay in the game.
Representing Brazil are Marina Fukushima and René Murad, veterans known to fans of the national franchise, who enter the dispute trying to take home the world title and a prize of US$200,000.
A season has 10 episodesreleased weekly. The new chapters arrive every Sunday, at 8:30 pm, on HBO Max and also on Discovery. The premiere took place on May 24th, and the final episode is scheduled to air on July 26th.
