Former federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (New), pre-candidate for the Senate for Paraná, assessed that the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo), was wrong when commenting on the dispute involving senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) and the presidential succession. The statement was given during Green Farm, in Mato Grosso, in an interview with Young Pan on the Lide Agro MT forum.

For Deltan, although everything must be investigated, the opposition cannot feed narratives that end up benefiting the opponent. “Zema was wrong. Everything has to be investigated, but you cannot feed narratives that will strengthen our great adversary, which is the PT”, he stated.

The pre-candidate associated the party with episodes of corruption and problems in the areas of public security and economy, and said that the center-right should not give rise to divisions that weaken the opposition field.

Still during the interview, Deltan compared the scandals currently being investigated to Operation Lava Jatoof which he was coordinator. According to him, the estimated deviation in INSS fraud already exceeds R$50 billion, a value greater than the loss of R$42 billion attributed to Lava Jato. The former prosecutor also cited Operation Compass Zero, linked to Banco Master, which he said is moving into the eighth phase.

Despite the comparisons, Deltan maintained that Lava Jato remains the biggest corruption scandal in the countryfor having reached a significant part of Congress, governors and former presidents of Latin America. He also stated that investigations become more difficult when they come into contact with ministers of the Federal Supreme Court, and mentioned, in the Master case, a contract linked to the wife of minister Alexandre de Moraes and payments to a resort associated with minister Dias Toffoli.
