A traditional defense event, the 23rd Forte International Security Conference, which takes place on the 16th and 17th of June in Rio de Janeiro, will have as its biggest concern this year the weakening of multilateralism.
The theme of the meeting is “Reprogramming power: technology and geopolitics in a fragmented world”.
The phenomenon has intensified in the government, which does not hide its disdain for international diplomacy and views traditional US allies with distrust.

Among the guests at the event is Brynja Oskarsdottir, director of the Science and Technology Committee at .
Also participating are Karin Wallensteen, Swedish ambassador to Brazil, and Steven Everts, director of the European Institute for Security Studies.
They will be on the panels “Defense and Innovation: a warning for Europe and Latin America” and “European Defense Autonomy in a fragmented world”.
The meeting will bring together authorities, diplomats, representatives of the Armed Forces, academics and experts in international relations at the Sheraton Hotel.
