An exchange of gunfire occurred in Toledo, in the State of Ohio; police are searching for at least 2 suspects in the attack
A shooting that occurred on Saturday (June 6, 2026) near the Old West End Festival, in Toledo, in the State of Ohio (USA), left at least 12 people injured. The exchange of gunfire caused panic and sent the crowd running for cover. To date, no suspects have been arrested.
Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan said preliminary investigations indicate that at least two shooters used firearms at the scene. According to him, the suspects were “probably shooting at each other.” Authorities asked the public to send photos and videos recorded by cell phones to aid in the search.
VICTIMS AND RESCUE
The victims range in age from 14 to 61, with the majority in their 20s. According to Heffernan, 2 of the injured are in critical condition. Videos published on social media show the work of emergency teams providing assistance at the scene.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (Republican Party) released a statement stating that he was “deeply concerned” with the episode. “Summer festivals should be safe spaces for families to spend time together without fear of violence”he declared.
The Old West End Festival is an annual gathering held in Toledo that brings together live music performances and visits to historic homes.
